What The Taurus sends and when
The Taurus sends email notifications for important events in your workflow. These are transactional emails -- they are triggered by specific actions, not sent on a schedule. You do not need to configure anything to receive them. As long as your account has a valid email address, notifications are delivered automatically.
Here is a complete overview of every email type.
Advertiser invites
When: A publisher invites an advertiser to fill in their transparency notice details.
If you are an advertiser and a publisher has created an ad entry on your behalf, you receive an email with a link to complete your part. The email identifies the publisher, the ad in question, and provides a direct link to the form where you enter your sponsor details, costs, and other required information.
This is typically the first email you receive if a publisher initiates the process rather than you creating the notice yourself.
Publication confirmations
When: A team member publishes a transparency notice within your organisation.
Organisation owners receive a notification when a notice is published by another member of their team. The email includes the notice's public ID and a direct link to view it. This keeps organisation leaders informed about new publications without requiring them to check the dashboard constantly.
You will not receive this notification for notices you publish yourself -- only when other team members publish.
Complaint notifications
When: Someone files a complaint against one of your transparency notices.
Under Article 15 of EU Regulation 2024/900, every transparency notice must include a mechanism for the public to report concerns. The Taurus provides a built-in complaint form on every published notice.
When a complaint is filed, the following people are notified by email:
- The organisation owners of the organisation that published the notice.
- If the notice belongs to a chapter, the chapter's responsible contacts are also notified.
The notification includes the complaint text and the notice it relates to, so you can review and respond promptly.
Complaint receipts and updates
When: A complaint is filed (receipt) or its status changes (update).
If the person who filed the complaint provided their email address, they receive a confirmation email acknowledging that their complaint was received. When you later update the complaint status -- for example, marking it as acknowledged, resolved, or closed -- the reporter receives another email informing them of the new status.
This two-way communication is important for demonstrating that complaints are taken seriously, as the regulation expects.
Team member invitations
When: You are added to an organisation.
When an organisation owner or administrator adds you as a member, you receive an email notifying you of the invitation. The email includes the organisation name, your assigned role, and a link to log in.
Email verification
When: You register a new account or request email verification.
After creating your account on The Taurus, you receive a verification email with a link to confirm your email address. Clicking the link verifies that you have access to the email account and activates full functionality.
If you did not receive the verification email, you can request a new one from your account settings.
Password reset
When: You request a password reset.
If you forget your password, use the password reset form to request a reset link. The email contains a one-time link that lets you set a new password. The link expires after a limited time for security reasons.
If you did not request a password reset, you can safely ignore the email. No changes are made to your account unless you click the link and set a new password.
Making sure you receive notifications
All notifications are sent from the address shown in the "From" field of any email you have already received from The Taurus. To avoid missing important notifications:
- Check your spam folder. If you are not receiving emails, look in your spam or junk folder. Mark emails from The Taurus as "not spam" to improve future delivery.
- Keep your email current. If your email address changes, update it in your account settings. Notifications go to the address on file -- there is no way to deliver them to an outdated address.
- Whitelist the sender. If your organisation uses strict email filtering, ask your IT team to whitelist the sender address.
What The Taurus does not send
The Taurus does not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional messages. Every email you receive is triggered by a specific action -- either yours or someone else's -- that directly affects your account, your organisation, or your notices. There is no mailing list to unsubscribe from because there is no mailing list.
