Two modes for different needs

The Taurus offers two modes designed to match the scale and complexity of your political advertising compliance work. Whether you are an individual candidate creating a single transparency notice or a national party managing hundreds of notices, there is a mode that fits.

You can view current prices on the pricing page at any time. This article explains what each mode includes and who it is designed for.

Verified mode -- free, no time limit

Verified mode is free and available to everyone who signs up. There is no trial period and no credit card required. You can use Verified mode indefinitely for basic compliance work.

With Verified mode, you can:

  • Receive publisher invites and manage external transparency notices
  • Manage complaints routed to your organization
  • Maintain your sponsor or publisher data
  • View and track notices linked to your organization

Verified mode is ideal for organizations that primarily work through publishers, manage external notices created by others, or need to maintain a compliance profile without publishing their own notices. It provides full access to the complaint and external notice management features.

Ensured mode -- paid, per entity

Ensured mode unlocks the full feature set for actively creating, publishing, and managing transparency notices. Pricing is a flat fee per Ensured entity under your organization.

There are two plan types:

ENSURED_SPONSOR -- for sponsors

Ensured Sponsor is built for political parties, campaign organizations, candidates with staff, and NGOs that need to create and manage their own transparency notices.

Everything in Verified mode is included, plus:

  • Notice creation and publishing -- the full 11-step wizard for creating and publishing transparency notices
  • QR code generation -- download QR codes for each published notice in print-ready formats
  • Campaigns to group related notices and track aggregate spending across multiple ads
  • Team collaboration with the ability to invite members and assign roles
  • Sponsor templates so your team can reuse pre-filled sponsor and payer details instead of entering them from scratch each time
  • CSV import for creating multiple notices in bulk
  • Edit locking to prevent conflicting edits when multiple people work on the same notice
  • Revision history for a full audit trail of changes to each notice
  • API access for integrating The Taurus into your existing campaign management tools or internal systems

ENSURED_PUBLISHER -- for publishers

Ensured Publisher is designed for newspapers, broadcasters, and online platforms that accept and publish political advertising. Publishers have specific obligations under EU Regulation 2024/900 to verify that sponsors have created proper transparency notices before publication.

Everything in Verified mode is included, plus:

  • Publisher profile that identifies your organization as a publisher on the platform
  • Sponsor management to track which sponsors are placing political ads with you
  • Ad booking management to link specific ad bookings to their corresponding transparency notices
  • Verification workflow to check and confirm that a sponsor's notice is complete and compliant before you publish their ad
  • Publisher defaults for standard settings that apply across your bookings
  • Compliance links that connect your published ads to their transparency notices
  • API access for integrating sponsor verification and booking workflows into your editorial or ad operations systems

Choosing the right mode

Start with the free Verified mode if you are unsure. You can upgrade to Ensured at any time from your organization's billing page, and all your existing data carries over. There is no need to start over.

If you actively create and publish transparency notices, you need Ensured mode. If you primarily manage external notices and complaints, Verified mode covers everything you need.
